Wendy (Umm Uthman) Diaz is the Co-founder of Hablamos Islam and Hablamos Islam Niños, two websites dedicated to providing Spanish-speaking Muslims and non-Muslims with educational resources about Islam in Spanish. She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the US when she was 8 years old and embraced Islam in the year 2000. She graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics, specializing in education. She has worked as an ESL and Spanish teacher in the US and in Cairo, Egypt, where she resided for a year while studying Arabic. She has also studied the Arabic language at the Islamic Learning Foundation in Queens, New York, and Qur’anic Studies at the Islamic Educational Center of North Hudson. Wendy has over 10 years of translation experience, having translated numerous Islamic articles, fatawa, and khutbahs from English to Spanish. She has given presentations about the Islamic veil and Women in Islam in various universities in the East coast. She is currently a Staff Writer for The Muslim Link newspaper in College Park, Maryland, a Fellow at New America Media, and authors, illustrates, and publishes her own bilingual Islamic children’s books.

Hujrah Wahhaj, a passionate humanitarian, is a NY native and has
gain both recognition and a following in her own right, throughout her
Career as a Life Coach. Hujrah spends the majority of her time on a quest
to answer the mystery:”why were we created?” Throughout her travels abroad
& volunteer work both domestically & internationally, she has concluded the
commonality amongst all people is the desire to be loved. Her warm,
embracing, & easy going personality, combined with her open-door policy
makes her calling as a Life Coach organic. Her passion for inspiring others
trascends all whether she’s unleashing her clients with her fiery personal
