Imam Siraj Wahhaj

Imam Siraj Wahhaj, currently the Imam of Masjid Al-Taqwa in Brookyn, New York, accepted Islam in 1969. Wahhaj is well known among Muslims in North America as a dynamic speaker and tireless supporter of Islamic causes.

He received Imam training at Ummul Qura University of Makkah in 1978 and has gone on to become a national and international speaker on Islam.

NOTABLE WORKS
Imam Wahhaj has been Vice President of ISNA U.S. since 1997 and has served on Majlis Ash-Shura since 1987. He is a past member of ISNA’s Planning Committee and has served as a member of the Board of Advisors for NAIT from 1989-1993. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the American Muslim Council. Imam Wahhaj has appeared on several national television talk shows and interviews especially about his anti-drug campaigns. He received high praises from the media and NYPD for initiating anti-drug patrol in Brooklyn, New York in 1988. Imam Wahhaj was the first person to give an Islamic invocation to the United States Congress.

Rameez Abid

Rameez Abid graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Information Technology. Currently, later pursued B.A. in Islamic Studies from Islamic Online University. Rameez worked in the IT field from 2008-2014. In 2014, he became Director of Communication & Outreach for ICNA’s Council for Social Justice. Rameez initially joined ICNA as a volunteer in 2008 on various projects including as a community organizer and fundraiser. He served as the Youth Coordinator for two years and then as the president of the ICNA Mosque in Alexandria, VA for two more years before joining ICNA-Council for Social Justice in 2014.

Dr. Amaarah DeCuir

Dr. Amaarah DeCuir is a member of the faculty at American University’s School of Education where she teaches courses on education philosophy, policy, pedagogy, and leadership. She is an active researcher who studies education leadership within American Islamic schools as well as her current research project to examine Muslim students’ experiences in public schools. She is an active member of the ADAMS Center community where she currently leads the Youth Book Club and hosts marriage support groups for married women in her home. Sister Amaarah is happily married to Imam Mohamed Magid, together they are raising their five daughters to be strong, intelligent, and faithful young Muslims.

Imam Ali Tos

Imam Ali Tos ( Turkey; Graduate of Necmettin Erbakan University, Konya) is the Imam and Hifz Teacher of  Diyanet Center of America which is a non-profit organization based in Lanham, Maryland. He graduated Islamic middle, high school and university in Turkey. He began his master about tafseer than he moved to USA in 2014. He has around fifteen years of teaching and leadership experience in religious field. He participated in the community activities that further good interfaith and public relations for Islam and Muslim, He has been offering Islamic family and youth counseling and guidance as need, develop and implement educational programs for the youth. He has been participating ISNA, ICNA more than three years in USA.

Dr. Madiha Saeed

Madiha Saeed, MD is a practicing board certified family physician in Naperville and a traditionally published author of a best-selling book The Holistic Rx: Your Guide to Healing Chronic Inflammation and Disease.

Dr. Sabeel Ahmed

*Dr. Sabeel Ahmed* is the Executive Director of the GainPeace Project, an outreach project of Islamic Circle of North America.

As a *director of GainPeace*, Br. Sabeel’s aim is to bring out the commonalities and build bridges between people of various faith, races, and nationalities and share the beautiful faith of Islam with our fellow Americans.

Some of the *projects of GainPeace* include advertising the message of spirituality via Bus, Billboards, trains, TV, Radio and newspapers. Dr. Sabeel had given many outreach presentations and workshops in various cities in the USA on the topics of Shariah, Freedom of Speech, comparative religion and youth empowerment.

After completing his medical education from the Carribean, he decided to dedicate his time as a *full-time (daee) educator of Islam* to tackle Islamophobia and to convey the peaceful message of Islam.
He is married with three children and resides with his family in Morton Grove, IL, *USA*.

Imam John Starling

Imam John Starling is the Executive Director of GCLEA, in Cherry Hill, NJ and volunteers at Rutgers University, Camden as a Muslim chaplain. He is an alumnus of NCSU’s Poole College of Management and the Islamic University of Madinah. He holds a Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies from the Islamic University of Minnesota, possesses traditional ijazahs in several subjects including Hanbali fiqh, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy. Imam John is also the founder of Hanbalidisciples.com which seeks to revive traditional Islamic studies according to the illustrious school of Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal.

Hernán Guadalupe, MEng.

Hernán Guadalupe, whose family is from Ecuador, embraced Islam in 2001, while earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. He has studied Islamic sciences at the Islamic Learning Foundation, American Open University, and University of Mishkah. He also spent a year in Cairo, Egypt, where he studied and completed the classical Arabic curriculum at the Fajr Center for the Arabic Language. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is currently a PhD student in Business Administration at Walden University.

He has been involved in the work of dawah as a volunteer with organizations such as WhyIslam, the North Hudson Islamic Educational Center, and Islamworld.net. In 2005, he founded Hablamos Islam, Inc. (Formerly The PrimeXample Co.), a nonprofit organization focused on creating educational resources about Islam in the Spanish language. He has lectured about Islam at various universities such as Columbia, Montclair, Rutgers, William Patterson, Temple, Fordham, Johns Hopkins, and George Mason University.

Hernán Guadalupe currently works as an Engineer and serves as an undergraduate mentor for La Unidad Latina Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Imam Danny “Khalil” Salgado

Imam Danny Salgado is a Puerto Rican convert to Islam born and raised in New York. He accepted Islam in the fall of his freshman year at college in 1995. He graduated from SUNY-Binghamton where he double majored in Arabic and in Political Science with a concentration in Middle East and North African Studies in 2004. He attended Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Saudi Arabia and completed a 2-year Arabic program in 2001 followed by two additional years of Arabic, Shariah, and education courses.

Additionally, he studied under major scholars in circles of knowledge in Makkah, Riyadh, Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia and has received a number of ijazas from scholars from around the world. He also holds a Master’s degree in TESOL from Murray State University (2011) and completed a graduate certificate in Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations from Hartford Seminary in 2017. He is currently enrolled at the Hartford Seminary Islamic Chaplaincy Program where he is pursuing a Master’s of Islamic Studies and Muslim-Christian Relations and Certificate of Islamic Chaplaincy.

Imam Danny Salgado served as president of the Muslim Students Association and Assabeel at SUNY. He also held the post of Secretary for the League of Latin American Muslim Organizations (LLAMO) from 2008-2011. While living in Tennessee, he was president of the Islamic Center of Clarksville, TN in 2010, and a full time Arabic and English teacher at Nashville International Academy. In 2018 he was the full time imam at theAbrar Masjid in the Bronx, New York City and a chaplain intern at Westchester Medical Center.

Currently, he is the NY Dawah Coordinator for WhyIslam and a volunteer chaplain at Northern State Prison in Newark, New Jersey.
