Dr. Ahmed Gomaa is a Professor of Operations and Analytics at the University of Scranton, specializing in blockchain-driven solutions for digital transformation and socio-technical resilience. A recipient of competitive NSF and New Jersey Commission grants, his research integrates blockchain with natural language processing (NLP) to unify fragmented datasets while preserving privacy. Notably, he led an NSF-funded project developing blockchain protocols for cross-institutional healthcare collaboration. Further, his research advances ethical blockchain development and governance, fostering transparency and accountability among diverse stakeholders. Dr. Gomaa brings this expertise to the workshop, offering insights into blockchain’s technical, economic, and ethical dimensions in today’s digital economy.

Ikram Muhammad is an Information Security Engineer and Educator at the University of Scranton with decades of industry experience. He holds a master's degree in Cybercrime Investigation and Cybersecurity and a master’s degree in engineering operations management.
Ikram is certified in multiple areas of information security, including CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), and CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker).
Ikram's contributions and community service in the field of cybersecurity are notable. He has served on the Program Committee for the Cybersecurity and Privacy Professionals Conference 2022, hosted by EDUCAUSE, and participated in the 2022 Cyber Investigation Summer Camp organized by the University of Scranton's Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice & Criminology. He also presented at the Cybersecurity in Health Care Virtual Town Hall, hosted by the University of Scranton Health Informatics Program. He led a session on Internet Safety and Phishing at the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library. Additionally, he contributed to Health and Wellness Day, organized by the University of Scranton Center for Health Education & Wellness. Furthermore, Ikram has been a speaker and technology lead at ICNA for the last several years.
